About Stuart
Stuart is the proud owner of War Horse Mowing.
He has a long-standing love affair with his lawn, and is well known in the neighbourhood for mowing every few days and obsessing over how to make his lawn look better.
After 27 years of soldiering in the Australian Army, he started War Horse Mowing to transition out of the Australian Defence Force and into meaningful employment within his community.
With an entrepreneurial mindset and desire to be the one that now calls the shots, Stuart is applying the same work ethic, values, and humour he used on multiple overseas deployments to grow War Horse Mowing into a great lawn mowing and gardening service.
Why War Horse Mowing?
War Horse Mowing is named after one of the three ‘Battle Groups’ from the Australian Army’s 7th Brigade, garrisoned at Gallipoli Barracks here in Brisbane.
Stuart was posted to 7th Brigade many times throughout his career, and Brisbane has become his family’s permanent home.
The War Horse symbol represents his connection to ‘Battle Group War Horse’ and the soldiers that still serve our nation.
War Horse Mowing Goals
A future goal for War Horse Mowing is to expand and employ other veterans, providing stable and meaningful employment for men and women as they transition out of the Australian Defence Force.
Harnessing the values and strengths of the veteran community in the form of teamwork, attention to detail, work ethic, trustworthiness, and self-discipline, War Horse Mowing hopes to grow and become the lawn mowing and gardening service provider of choice for the veteran and wider community within Warner, Cashmere, Joyner, Brendale, Eatons Hill, Petrie, Lawnton, Bridgeman Downs, McDowall and Albany Creek areas.
